Thurs - Fri:  11 - 8
Sat:  11 - 6
Sun:  12 - 5
It feels as if Spring has sprung.  Who knows if it will last, but while the sun is out to warm your soul, we have a visiting winemaker this week whose charm will also warm your heart. Nicola Argamonte from Corsini Winery in Piedmont will be at the shop pouring his wines from 5 - 8pm.  Read more below and please come join us for this wonderful chance to taste Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Barolo!

Last Thursday is tomorrow and we've dressed the shop up with a few new works of art by local artists.  Stop in and check out the walls, grab a bottle of wine for dinner and then walk across the street because it's also Free Corkage Night at the Alberta Street Oyster Bar & Grill for cork customers.  A great way to drink from an expanded wine list - we just ask that you choose something they don't already have on their wine list, as we want to support their wine program while at the same time offering you more choices.

Come taste Sonoma and Napa wines tomorrow.  We had a last-minute cancellation, so there are still a few seats available for the Backroom Tasting.  Details follow.
UPCOMING EVENTS

THIS THURSDAY:  CALIFORNIA BACKROOM TASTING: NAPA & SONOMA
FEB. 28 · 6:30pm · $20/person

Fresh from a trip to Napa and Sonoma Counties, Sara and Darryl will lead a discussion of what we learned.  The tasting will include a flight of three Napa white wines that will make you rethink the combination of the words 'Napa' and 'white wine'.  We'll then taste a total of six reds from Napa and  Sonoma, including an older vintage of Zinfandel we had sent back after our trip. Wineries featured will include White Rock, Snowden, Luna Vineyards, Grgich Hills, Bucklin, Unti, Petersen, Davis Family Winery and Green & Red. This is a wine-only tasting, so plan on grabbing a bite beforehand or taking your favorite bottle across the street to the Oyster Bar for dinner afterward (call them for reservations too, the tasting should wrap up by 8pm). Space still available - call us at 503.281.2675 for reservations.  RESERVATIONS REQUIRED!
FRIDAY NIGHT FLIGHT

corsini baroloCORSINI Wines from Piemonte, Italy
Friday, February 29 · $12 tasting fee · 5 - 8 pm

We are very pleased to welcome Nicola Argamonte to the shop on Friday night.  Fortune must be smiling on us, as Nicola is in town showing off the new vintages of his wines and didn't have plans for Friday.  We can help with that!

He will be on-hand to pour the 2006 Matot (a blend of mostly Dolcetto and Barbera), the 2006 Barbera d'Alba, the 2005 Barbera 'Armujan', the 2005 Nebbiolo and the 2003 Barolo.  The only problem we ever have with Corsini wines is choosing which ones to carry in the shop, since they are all so good.  Please join us for this terrific chance to talk with the winemaker, taste delicious wines and snack on some new arrivals in the meat and cheese department, including Salumi's Winter Salame blend and some soft asiago pressato.  $12 tasting fee includes wine and snacks. Drop-in tasting, no reservations required.
