NO TASTING
THIS FRIDAY!

Greetings to all.  A wonderful opportunity came up for me to visit Chile and Argentina, so I jumped on a plane last week and I am currently strolling the streets of Mendoza.  Because of this, we won't have a tasting this Friday night - but next week, Friday 10/12 will be all about the wines of Argentina, with tales to tell and photos to share, so put it on your calendar.  Then hopefully on Friday 10/19, one of the Chilean producers I visited will be at the shop to pour his unbelievable wines.

A few things for you newsletter followers this week.  We're releasing our fall schedule of classes, we have one dinner on the books (and another in the works, so stay tuned) and there's a great opportunity for art lovers to check out artists studios around town.  Read on for more and I'll see you next week.

SCHOOL OF CORK · Spain Series Continues...

All of the Spain classes will last approximately two hours and include light appetizers.  Classes will talk in depth about the region and subregions, with a tasting of at least 6 wines that show a range of styles so participants can come away with some understanding of what each of these notable Spanish regions has to offer.  The different prices are based on the wines we expect to use and what they cost. Take one class or take them all!  You'll receive 15% off all purchases the night of the class, so it can also be a great opportunity to do some holiday shopping and get a discount:

Oct. 18 · RIBERA DEL DUERO ·
$40/person · 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Nov. 15 · RIOJA ·
$50/person · 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Dec. 13 · PRIORAT ·
$50/person · 6:30pm - 8:30pm

SCHOOL OF CORK · The Basics...

Our introduction to wine tasting, or Wine 101, has been a big success, so Morgan and I have decided it's time for the next step, what we're calling Wine 201.  We'll talk more in depth about terroir, taste wines that contrast each other from the same region, and debunk some wine myths.  If you've missed Wine 101, there's a chance to take that again too:

Oct. 24  · WINE 201 ·
$35/person · 6:30-8:30pm - Beyond Tasting Basics & Myths
Nov. 14 · WINE 101 ·
$25/person · 6:30-8:30pm - the Intro Class
Dec. 6   · WINE 201 ·
$35/person · 6:30-8:30pm - Beyond Tasting Basics & Myths

To reserve, you can call the shop at 503.281.2675 during shop hours (M-Sat 11-7, Sun 12-5).
