As
I begin busily planning for the last 5 weeks of the year, the cork crew
is hard at work restocking the shop with more of your favorites and
lots of new additions that have just been released. If you're
seeking a special bottle as a gift, or need us to pull together several
bottles to be given to your best customers or friends this season, now
is a good time to let us know, so we can search out special wines just
for you.
We've added a double bottle gift box option this year,
to go along with our popular single bottle version. We're happy
to wrap up your purchase, so you don't have to. If you can give
us advance notice, we'll have it waiting for you when you arrive to
pick it up.
Check out the tastings and class below -
this is the time of year we try to showcase some of the more special
bottles in the shop. Thursday's Argentina class will be a great example
of that and since we just had 4 people cancel, there is now space
available if you care to join us.

 Sara's Corner |
After
all the festivities last week and the land of leftovers this week, you
need simple, no fuss wines for the post-Thanksgiving bends. Rent a
couple movies, order in and decompress with these comfort wines. 2006 MAS DE BOISLAUZON La Chaussynette · $9.75 ($8.78 cork club price) Winemaker
Monique Chaussy runs her property in Chateauneuf du Pape where she
makes stunning, highly rated Chateauneufs. The "little Chaussy" is her
solid, entry-level Rhone blend, made to enjoy without overexerting your
cerebellum or breaking the bank. On the nose, rosemary and sage are
lightly present, with red fruits and raspberry flavors carrying through
the palate to a soft, spiced finish. Add leftovers and serve.
2006 I GIUSTI Nemorino · $15.00 ($13.50 cork club price) Here
is a hearty Tuscan wine made up of Syrah (60%), Sangiovese (30%), and
Merlot (10%) showing violets on the nose and tasting of cherries and
currants. With all of that fresh acidity on the finish, the Nemorino is
craving a big cheesy pizza with red sauce and pepperoni's. If you, like
me, are feeling the need to cozy up indoors, these little wines will be
pleasant den company.
