Getting
to watch the Blazers win 11 in a row and the Portland area getting snow
was a pretty great Christmas Day for me. Now as we look to next
year, New Year's Eve should be a chance to reflect back on the best of
2007. We're here to help you pick the right bottle of bubbly (or
other wine) to help celebrate New Year's, and below you'll find our
list of Best Sellers for 2007 - you might be surprised to see what made
the list!
With all the time we've been spending around the shop
this holiday season, we've had to come up with some games to keep us
entertained. And I'm sure many of you who have been entertaining
extended families have put in some game time as well, so we figured a
Friday night tasting that had a game component made good sense.
Read on for more about our Guess the Grape Tasting this Friday from
4-8PM.
We will be open until 7pm on New Year's Eve for last
minute shopers. See below for our holiday hours and
closures. Hope to see you one more time before 2008!

FRIDAY NIGHT FLIGHT · Guess the Grape - Blind Varietal Tasting · $10 to taste · 4 - 8 pm
|
So
you think you don't like Cabernet? Or maybe you are convinced
Pinot Noir is your favorite? Well, let's give your palate a
chance at expanding your drinking horizons by letting you taste
single-varietal wines without knowing what they are, so you can't
prejudge them.
Come taste 6 reds, all double blind
(meaning we're not going to tell you where in the world they come from
or what type of grape you are tasting). You can make your own
notes about likes and dislikes and then we'll reveal the wines to you
and you can confirm or reject your own preconceived notions about
wine.
Sound like fun? Bring a group of friends and
family and come on down anytime from 4 - 8 PM. We'll have some
snacks out as usual and you can pick out that perfect bottle of bubbly
for New Year's at the same time. See you then.

We'll have to see what new areas we can explore together in 2008.

Castellar Cava (Spain) 3. 2004 La Valentina Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (Italy) 4. 2005 Plungerhead 'Lodi' Zinfandel (California) 5. 2006 Evesham Wood 'Willamette Valley' Pinot Noir (Oregon) 6. 2005 La Sauvageonne Les Ruffes (France) 7. 2005 Lemelson Pinot Noir 'Thea's Selection' (Oregon) 8. 2005 Cameron Pinot Noir 'Gehrts Vineyard' (Oregon) 9. 2004 Banneret Chateauneuf du Pape (France) 10 2004 Abeja Cabernet Sauvignon (Washington)
